Dr. Khayata completed his residency in Anesthesiology from Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago area. He then moved to Massachusetts to complete a fellowship in critical care medicine followed by a pain medicine fellowship. Dr. Khayata is triple boarded in Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, and Pain Medicine. In 2006, he joined the University of Massachusetts department of Anesthesiology where he was involved in teaching medical students and training residents. He served as a chief of acute pain service at the UMASS Memorial University Hospital from 2007 - 2016. Dr. Khayata was involved in clinical research at University of Massachusetts Medical School where he gained the rank of associate professor of Anesthesiology and Surgery. In addition to acute pain, he has a passion for treating various chronic pain conditions. In 2016 he moved to the Northern Virginia area to pursue his dream of building an interdisciplinary pain management program. Dr. Khayata believes in a personalized medicine and comprehensive approach to complex pain conditions.
